Quickstart

From a new account to a dashboard with real numbers — the shortest path, and what to expect at each step.

This page is the condensed version. Onboarding walks through the same flow screen by screen.

1. Create your account

Sign up with your work email and confirm it from the message you receive. The confirmation link is what activates the account — until it is used, sign-in will not work.

New accounts start on a trial. See Trial and paid plans for what the trial includes.

2. Describe your brand

You will be asked for:

  • Brand name — exactly as customers write it
  • Website — the domain you own, e.g. example.com
  • Country and industry — the market context; the country becomes the default for the prompt groups you create
  • Name variations — abbreviations, legal suffixes, common misspellings

Variations matter more than they look. A mention is only counted if the name in the answer matches something you configured, so a brand written two ways in the wild needs both forms listed. See Brands.

3. Add prompts

Prompts are the questions you want to be present in. Onboarding builds the first set for you — from suggested topics, from what your site already ranks for, or generated around what you sell — and you review every prompt before it is created. Writing your own and uploading a list come afterwards, in the Prompts tab.

Start with 20–40 prompts covering the buying questions you care about most. It is a better baseline than 200 vague ones, and it is easy to add more later.

4. Add competitors

Add the brands you actually compete with in answers. This set defines the denominator for Share of Voice and the ranking on the dashboard, so keep it to real competitors rather than an aspirational list.

5. Wait for the first data

Answers are collected on a schedule rather than instantly. The first meaningful dashboard usually needs a day; trends need one to two weeks. See Data freshness.

6. Read the dashboard

Once data arrives, work in this order:

  1. Visibility — your baseline.
  2. Prompt gaps — the specific questions you are absent from.
  3. Sources — which domains those answers were built from.
  4. Competitors — who is winning the prompts you lose.

That sequence goes from what is happening to what to change. See Dashboard overview.

Optional, but worth doing early

  • Run the site audits under the Report tab — they work immediately, with no waiting for answer data. See Schema audit.
  • Connect Google Search Console to build prompts from the queries you already rank for. See Google Search Console.
  • Set up bot analytics to see which AI crawlers visit your site. See Bot analytics.
